Online Talk with Juana María Rodríguez: Lesbian Cultures, Bisexual Practices, and the Promise of Queer Politics
We are very happy to announce that professor Juana María Rodríguez will do a talk with Spinnboden Lesbian Archives.
In her presentation she examines the silences, erasures, and tensions that surround bisexuality in lesbian and queer communities to consider the impact and implications for contemporary sexual politics.
Juana María Rodríguez is a professor of Ethnic Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, and Performance Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, currently in residence at the American Academy in Berlin. She is the author of Queer Latinidad: Identity Practices, Discursive Spaces, (NYU 2003); Sexual Futures, Queer Gestures, and Other Latina Longings; (NYU, 20014), and is currently completing Puta Life: Seeing Latinas, Working Sex (Duke UP, 2022).
