Passing the Paintbrush Art-Workshop : Lotte Laserstein
On Sunday, October 27 from 13-16 will be a hands-on practical arts and history „Passing the Paintbrush“ workshop about Lotte Laserstein in the Spinnboden Lesbian Archive.
Participants will learn the life story of Laserstein, the Jewish German-Swedish oil painter who made works such as „Abend uber Potsdam“ and “ Am Motorad“.
We will explore queer theory when analyzing her paintings, and play with watercolor and watercolor pencils to create our own landscape drawings based on Lasertstein’s travel sketches.
Our Guest Historical expert is Clara Escalera who is researching Laserstein for her PhD. She also teaches classes and creates artworks and graphics which you can find on her website

Covid tests and masks are mandatory and provided. You can listen to the audio documentary about her which will be released in early October here : https://open.spotify.com/show/1TDYzc4HSAYCtxWpKpbcXG?si=J3au2g7PTaOkYrJqxDY5vw
